NFL Draft: Gophers linebackers looking to follow in Jack Gibbens, Carter Coughlin’s footsteps

Published Thu, 06 Mar 2025 11:21:30 GMT

He impressed Titans coach Mike Vrabel with his intelligence and earned the nickname “Dr. Gibby.”While Gibbens didn’t make the team to start the season, he hung around on the practice squad and was ready to help the Titans in a playoff push to end the season. He had 28 tackles in the final five games, making two starts.Gophers linebacker Mariano Sori-Marin and defensive end/linebacker Thomas Rush are in a similar position this year. They might not hear their name called by the time the draft finishes Saturday, but they will be ready for their shot.“That embodies Gopher football,” Sori-Marin said of Gibbens’ rookie year. “That just goes to show how hard we prepare and how we truly value deta...
