(AP) — Mark Fletcher had an 11-yard touchdown run to end overtime and Miami rallied to beat Virginia 29-26 on Saturday to become bowl-eligible.Andy Borregales kicked three field goals for Miami (6-2, 2-2 Atlantic Coast Conference), which got an OT win for the second consecutive week after beating Clemson.Ajay Allen hurdled a Virginia defender on the way to the end zone on a third-quarter TD run for Miami, and Kam Kinchens ran back an interception for a score 7 seconds later for the Hurricanes.Tony Muskett threw for 239 yards, Mike Hollins ran for two scores and Will Bettridge kicked four field goals for Virginia (2-6, 1-3). BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Bruins placed veteran forward Milan Lucic on the long-term injured list Saturday before their game against the Detroit Red Wings.The 35-year-old Lucic played in four games, getting two assists. Provincial police are looking for two people of interest in a suspected weapons smuggling case after finding three dozen illegal firearms near the Canada-U.S. border.Ontario Provincial Police say they received a report early Thursday morning of a suspected firearms smuggling operation after two people were seen travelling in a boat on the St. Clair River, which is located near the community of Port Lambton and runs along the border with Canada and the United States.Police say they later located the 36 firearms but the suspected smugglers and their watercraft were nowhere to be seen.“Illegal firearms pose a serious risk to public safety and are often used by organized crime groups, including street gangs, to commit violent crimes including theft, intimidation, extortion and homicide,” said OPP Det. An 18-year-old is facing several firearms charges after allegedly shooting and killing a man’s pet dog in Toronto last month.Toronto police were called to Barbara Hall Park near Church and Wellesley streets around 11 p.m. Sept. 26 for reports of a shooting.They say two men got into an argument and the suspect initially left the area only to return a short time later with a gun before shooting and killing the other man’s dog.Police said they believe the two men were unknown to each other prior to the argument.
