They began to search for artists to paint ukuleles that could be auctioned off. “For every ukulele they buy, two will be given to the hospitals,” Kathy Novak said. “So it's been a great effort.” From classroom to construction site: Geometry students building homes for community Today those bright colorful ukuleles cover the walls of the Buffalo Grove Park District's community center, area restaurants, businesses and entryways. Beau LaBore and his coaching staff made a point to savor the 2022 Stillwater football season, knowing how rare it was to work with a quarterback as talented as Max Shikenjanski. The signal caller, now a walk-on player with the Gophers, earned East Metro Player of the Year honors while guiding the Ponies to the Class 6A state tournament via its high-powered aerial attack. Those types of passers do not come around often. And yet, Stillwater might have another one.No, Nick Kinsey is not at Shikenjanski’s level of quarterbacking — not yet. But early returns suggest the sophomore is on that trajectory.Through three games, the Ponies are 2-1, with victories over rivals Woodbury and East Ridge. In the road win over the Royals, Kinsey passed for 357 yards and four touchdowns. That single-game yardage mark ranks No. 2 all time in the Ponies’ program history, trailing only Shikenjanski.“I think any time that you are seeing a quarterback have success, and he’s in 10th grade, you’ve got to be hap...

He has won the Stanley Cup three times, and needs only seven wins to catch Patrick Roy (551) for second all-time — firmly within the grasp of a goalie who was 24-26-4 with a 2.85 goals-against average last season, his 13th in the NHL.“I don’t want to jinx it, t...
